Praise from June:

"I am shocked at how accurately Kristi has captured the essence of Elvis. I was moved to tears. It almost seems like the words are coming out of his mouth."

June Releases Statement on New Elvis Book

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Press Statement on behalf of June Juanico

– Former Girlfriend Does Not Endorse New Elvis Book –

BILOXI, MS (January 8, 2010) – JUNE JUANICO, former girlfriend of Elvis Presley and author of Elvis: in the twilight of memory[1], is one of the persons covered by Alanna Nash in her new book, Baby Let’s Play House: Elvis Presley and the Women Who Loved Him.[2] The book originated with an article for Ladies’ Home Journal published in 2007.[3] The piece included interviews with June and six other women.

Nash expanded the article into her 684-page book, released today. “I’ve not seen the book. I didn’t even know there was going to be one,” she recently told the Sun-Herald.[4] Since the interview, Nash provided Ms. Juanico with an advance copy. She is referenced on 35-pages.

“It looks like [Ms. Nash] put a lot of time and effort into this,” Juanico continued. “Unfortunately, I can’t endorse it. The way they talk about Elvis here, well, it’s just not the man I knew.”

“My main concern is Elvis’s legacy for his fans. I want and need them to know what a good person he was. They deserve that.”
